Redknapp in for Camara?

Strong rumours circulating this morning are suggesting that West Ham are about to sign Liverpool's out of favour striker Titi Camara.

Camara, 28, has been pushed down the pecking order at Anfield following the arrival of Emile Heskey from Leicester last summer, and the return from injury of Robbie Fowler. Only yesterday he rejected a loan move to first division Preston.

Harry Redknapp is believed to have raided Anfield for the second time in a month following the recent arrival of Rigobert Song.

He is rumoured to have met representatives of the Merseyside club last night with view to a £1.5m offer for the striker, who joined Liverpool from Marseille in the summer of 1999 for £2.6m.

More on this as it happens.

* West Ham have taken former Arsenal target Zurab Khizanishvili on trial. The highly rated 19-year-old Georgian centre-half was close to a move to the Gunners in October, but the North Londoners refused to pay the £4m fee Lokomotiv Tblisi wanted for the player.
