Harry: no more spending

Hammers boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that he will be spending no more of the £18m Rio Ferdinand windfall until the summer, following the capture of three (possibly four) players this week.

Harry, speaking to the club site said: "I'm quite happy now. We've got enough [players] to get us through the season.

"We'll see what happens with the transfer system, have another look in the summer and if we've got to get one or two in then I think that the chairman wants to do that as well," he added.

"But I think we all want to see what happens with the transfer system first."

After the capture of Christian Dailly, Ragnvald Soma and Sebastian Schemmel earlier this week Harry confirmed that Bulgarian striker Svetoslav Todorov should also become a Hammer soon - barring any unforeseen problems.

"I'd like to get him," Harry admitted, "He's only 22, a young player and he's got 20 odd caps for Bulgaria already.

"He's a bargain - the initial fee is only £500,000. He's got terrific potential, and might turn out to be one of the cheapest players I've ever bought.

"We're applying for his work permit now."
