Terry Westley has been awarded a new three-year contract with West Ham.

The Academy Director, who ousted the club's longest-serving employee Tony Carr in 2014 has put pen to paper on a new contract tieing him to the club until 2020.

"To sit down with Karren [Brady] and the two Davids and for them to say they want you to continue and they can see the work you’re trying to put in place is always nice," he told whufc.com.

"There was no long discussion, it was done very quickly. I’m delighted to commit to a further three years and hopefully beyond that to complete the job that has been started.

"The two main objectives are to get young players in the first team - which West Ham are famous for - and financial gain, where we understand that sometimes we have to sell players to sustain the level of commitment that the board are showing the Academy."

Westley first teamed up West Ham's current Board in 2006 at Birmingham City, where he led their Academy for the next five years before leaving by mutual consent five years later.

He has also spent time in non-playing roles at Rushden & Diamonds, Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic, Luton Town and Derby County where he spent a brief spell as caretaker manager in 2006.
