Former Academy star Jack Collison is on his way back to West Ham United - as youth team manager.

Collison, 28, was released as a player by the club in the summer of 2014 following a string of injuries from which he failed to recover - leading to his retirement from the professional game in February 2016.

Since then, the Watford-born former midfielder has set up his own soccer school whilst working towards obtaining his UEFA coaching badges - whlst alos enjoying brief spells as manager of Peterborough's Under18s and Under 21s.

And it was revealed this afternoon that he is on his way back to West Ham, on a permanent basis, as Under 16s coach.

As you can see from the above tweet, Collison is absolutely delighted to be offered the opportunity to return to West Ham, where he spent nine years of his life and the majority of his professional career.
