The 44-year-old, who works for the BBC (amongst others) as a pundit was arrested on Sunday night following a disturbance at a home on Victory Boulevard, Lytham.

Sinclair, who is reported to have been present but had left the premises before Police arrived was later arrested after abandoning his vehicle a short distance from the property.

This is said to have occured following a minor accident in which a female pedestrian was struck by the vehicle in question.

A Police spokesman later confirmed that an arrest had taken place. "Officers found the vehicle, which had been involved in a collision with a woman pedestrian on Clifton Drive," they said.

"The driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, common assault and criminal damage. He is currently in custody."

Last last night, no more than a couple of hours after he was arrested Sinclair took to social media in order to post the following bizarre rant. He has made no comment since.
