On-loan central defender Reece Burke marked his return to the Bolton first team with a goal against Reading at the Macron Stadium tonight.

The 21-year-old Hammer was back in the first XI for the first time since the end of September and made his mark with a well-taken header that gave Wanderers an early lead against the Royals.

Burke's header, which arrived via a Josh Vela free-kick was complimented by a second Bolton goal moments later.

However the visitors were to untimately spoil the party by snatching a draw courtesy of efforts from Liam Moore and Leandro Bacuna - the latter coming just seven minutes from the end of normal time.

Burke returned to Phil Parkinson's side as replacement for the suspended Mark Beevers; whether or not his first goal of the campaign will be enough to keep him in the team remains to be seen.

Meanwhile Josh Cullen, on loan alongside Burke at Bolton, was an unused substitute.
