Andre Ayew has completed his return to Swansea City after just 18 months at West Ham.

A quality forward who failed to recreate his best form with the Hammers, Ayew heads back to South Wales in a deal reported to be worth in the region of £18million - £2.5million less than United paid for the Ghanaian in 2016.

The news was confirmed by West Ham tonight; a brief statement on the clu's website read: "West Ham United can confirm that Andre Ayew has signed for Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.

"Ayew, who spent the 2015/16 season at the Liberty Stadium prior to signing for the Hammers, will link up with his brother Jordan at the South Wales club. Everyone at West Ham United wishes Andre a successful future with Swansea City. "

Meanwhile the 28-year-old's new club welcomed his return, calling it a "major boost" for new Swans boss Carlos Carvalhal.

"Ayew has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract at the Liberty Stadium after the Swans agreed an undisclosed fee with the Hammers," said the Swansea website.

"He heads back to the Liberty having scored 12 goals in 50 West Ham appearances, 31 of which were starts. The versatile forward will wear the No. 19 shirt in his second stint as a Swan."
