West Ham have agreed to play a special one-off friendly at Dagenham & Redbridge next month in order to help raise funds for the cash-strapped Essex club.
The match, which has been scheduled for Wednesday, 21 March during the middle of an international break will feature a strong United XI, with David Moyes set to bring those first team players not involved in international fixtures.The Daggers are currently seeking new owners after car dealer Glyn Hopkin, who previously led a consortium (D&RC 2017 Ltd) that owned 74 per cent of the club's shares announced recently that he would be resigning as a director.

The news was welcomed by the non-league club, who said: "We are delighted that the management of our nearest Premier League team, West Ham United, have agreed to support the cause.
"They will be fielding a team comprising first team squad members in a friendly game at the Chigwell Construction Stadium during the forthcoming International break. Our thanks to David Sullivan, David Moyes and his team for this fantastic gesture and their help.
The club, currently 11th in the National League table are in serious financial trouble as a result of overspending in recent seasons in order to chase promotion. The plan has been fully welcomed by Daggers fans, one of whom described the friendly as " a fantastic idea from us - even more fantastic for WHU to oblige."
Tickets are available from £15 for adults and £5 for minors via West Ham's online box office.
