Arthur Masuaku has returned to England after leaving the DR Congo camp following a disagreement.

West Ham's French-born winger recently decided to represent the central African country - despite having featured for France at youth level - and was poised to start against Tanzania tonight.

But less than 24 hours before he was set to make his debut for the Congo, Masuaku - along with team mates Gael Kakuta, ex-Spurs winger Paul-Jose Mpoku and Jordan Ikoko - have left the camp.

According to reports, the foursome were unhappy at elements of the trip's travel schedule, which it has been claimed was utterly "disorganised". However the Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) have responded by claiming that the organisation plans were largely out of their hands.

According to a statement published by FECOFA, the governing body "lamented some organisational aspects... which unfortunately, are neither within the competence of the Federation, much less the technical staff of the Congolese national team."

"Some [players] have cracked, shunned and asked to leave," added the statment.

Masuaku, who has missed West Ham's last six Premier League games after being caught spitting at an opponent during an FA Cup defeat at League One Wigan Athletic in January is due to retunr ot the first team for this weekend's clash with Southampton.

The winger made his first appearance for the club since his ban in last week's 3-1 friendly win at Dagenham & Redbridge.
