Perez is no bench-warmer, warns agent

The agent of West Ham transfer target Lucas Perez says his client wants to remain in London - but only if he's offered regular first team football.

West Ham are understood to be on the verge of sealing a 4million deal for Arsenal's 29-year-old Spanish striker, who is unsettled at the Emirates having failed to make an impression at the club since moving from Deportivo two years ago.

However the player's agent, Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has warned that Perez would only consider a deal if offered the opportunity to play regular, first team football.

"I know that West Ham want him and they have made an offer," Lovelle told ESPN FC. "It is an option. Lucas is happy at Arsenal but he wants to play regularly and West Ham is an option for him.

"There are other clubs interested but joining West Ham would allow him to continue in London and in the Premier League and Lucas wants to continue in London. In Spain there are also interest from some clubs, but they are not willing to assume the transfer."

Despite paying some 17million for Perez when signing him from Deportivo two years ago, Arsenal have seen fit to give the striker just nine starts in total - although he spent the entirety of last season on loan at his former club.
