West Ham new boy Xande Silva blew Tottenham's Under 23s away with a debut hat-trick in West Ham's Premier League 2 win at the Lamex Stadium.

Trailing 1-0 from an early Samuel Shashoua effort, the recent Portuguese signing blew Spurs away with goals in the 43rd, 46th and 49th minute to earn the Hammers all three points in their opening fixture of the campaign.

Silva, who cost West Ham in the region of 1.5million (plus various add-ons) was joined in the team by the likes of Reece Oxford, Josh Cullen and Nathan Holland as Terry Westley sent out a strong side against their London rivals.

The win sent West Ham to the top of the PL2 table; this week's results were as follows:

Brighton 0-0 Liverpool
Chelsea 1-1 Everton
Derby 2-2 Blackburn
Leicester 1-0 Swansea
Man City 6-5 Arsenal
Tottenham 1-3 West Ham Utd
