Prior to the original Wimbledon FC being renamed and moved, the two clubs had met on 27 occasions with West Ham winning 11 to the Dons 8, with the remaining 8 matches ending in draws.

United's biggest win over Wimbledon came in an FA Cup replay in March 1985, a game in which John Lyall's side ran out 5-1 winners having drawn the original tie 1-1 at Plough Lane, the club's former home. Goalscorers on that day were Paul Allen, Alan Dcikens and hat-trick hero Tony Cottee.

The League One side, who currently play at Kingsmeadow will host West Ham in the week commencing Monday 27 August.
