Pellegrini honoured - with a roundabout

Trevor Brooking may have a road named after him, whilst there are numerous West Ham Ways dotted around the globe.

However KUMB believes that the Glorieta Manuel Pellegrini in Malaga is the first ROUNDABOUT to be named after a current Hammer, in homage to the coach who took the south Spanish club to the quarter finals of the Champions League in 2013.

The current Segunda Division club, who play at the 30,000-capacity La Rosaleda have long lived in the shadows of their more successful counterparts but for a brief spell under Pellegrini between 2010-13 were one of Spain's hottest exports.

And as a result of his brief successes in Andalusia at the start of the decade, the Chilean coach was honoured with the erection of a roundabout in his name - to which he briefly returned this week during the Premier League's international break...

"Many thanks to all of Malaga for this recognition and the love they have given me," wrote Pellegrini via twitter.

"I have always said that one of the best decisions of my life was to come here, where I had three unforgettable years. We hope to see Malaga CF in first division again next season."

Three years ago KUMB revealed how there were Westham Ways in Elk Grove, California, Baltimore, Maryland and another in Hilliard, Ohio - yet not a single one in the UK! The closest being Westham Road in Weymouth and Westham Street in Lancaster.

Meanwhile Trevor Brooking and Bobby Moore were honoured by Newham Council in the 1970s; two roads on the border of Forest Gate and Wanstead that run adjacent to the A114 were named Brooking Road and Moore Walk.
