Manuel Pellegrini has played down reports that he is interested in signing Roma striker Edin Dzeko.

Reports in Italy today suggest that the 32-year-old could be on his way to West Ham as cover for the likes of the oft-injured Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez.

However Pellegrini dismissed the speculation by insisting that it was too soon to begin thinking about potential January signings.

"You can talk about five, six or seven players that are linked with us," he said during this morning's pre-match press conference. ""I know him well, but we are not thinking about that at the moment."

However the manager confirmed that at least one of the club's forwards will be fit to face Tottenham at the Olympic Stadium this coming weeked.

"Marko [Arnautovic] is okay," he stated. "He returned from internationals where he played just one game and worked without any problems. We must be careful about his knee, but it is ok and allows him to play games."

We'll have more you from Pellegrini's pre-Tottenham presser soon.
