Manuel Pellegrini says that he will wait for a full diagnosis before speaking about Andriy Yarmolenko's injury.

The summer arrival went down in agony after hurting his ankle in the Tottenham penalty area during today's derby, with no other player from either team close to him.

And when asked to clarify the seriousness of the injury, Pellegrini refused to go into detail - deferring to the club's medical staff.

"I'd prefer to wait for tomorrow as it's better to have the doctor's diagnosis first," he said. "Then we can be more sure of what will happen with his fitness.

"The injury is between the foot and the ankle. I think it's better to wait until tomorrow [before commenting]."

However KUMB understands that Pellegrini's and the club's intial fears are that Yarmolenko could be out for a number of months -and possibly the rest of the season.

Both the player and the club now face an anxious wait for confirmation of the extent of the injury.
