I read it on social media, says Diop

Issa Diop says that he was unaware of any purported interest in his services from French giants Paris St Germain - until he read it on social media.

The 21-year-old central defender has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Premier League career following a 22million move to West Ham from Toulouse during the summer.

And that promising beginning to his spell in England has alerted several major clubs - one of whom, PSG, are rumoured to be interested in signing him either in January or next summer.

However Diop insists that he was unaware of interest from PSG or any other club until he noted the links when browsing social media recently.

"A departure for PSG this winter?" he said, when asked about the Ligue 1 club's purported interest. "Quite frankly, I don't know anything at all; I learned the information through social networks like you."

West Ham would naturally be extremely reluctant to allow a player who has only recently joined the club leave so soon - but would almost certainly make a major profit were they to invite bids for Diop.
