Swings and roundabouts, says Snodgrass

A disappointed Robert Snodgrass felt today's game against Watford could've swung either way - and that West Ham were particularly unfortunate to come away with nothing to show for their efforts.

The Scottish midfielder, who has been enjoying a purple patch of late told whufc.com that the difference between the two sides was simply that Watford made the most of their limited opportunities - whilst the Hammers squandered theirs.

“I thought it was two teams going for it and they simply took their chances," he reflected. "We've had a few chances, they've had a few; it was a game where both teams were wanting to be in the top ten and putting it all on the line. That's what we're aiming for.

"We could've made in five out of five so it's bitterly disappointing saying we've created chances; we hit the post, the bar and the 'keeper's pulled of unbelievable saves. It was one of those games."

Snodgrass also warned his fellow team mates that their finishing must return to the standard of the previous four matches if they are to return to winning ways against a rejuvenated Southampton at St Mary's on Thursday and continue moving up the Premier League table.

"We need to take our chances at this level if we want to have any chance of being in a top six position, which is probably achievable when you look at the great results we've had over the last four weeks," he added.

"You’ve seen our results away from home at places like Newcastle, Everton and Fulham; we’ve done well away from home. We play like a team that believes we should be in the top ten and that won’t change.

"We’ll try to build on those performances and come back from a bad result."
