Manuel Pellegrini is keeping tabs on Roma's veteran striker Edin Dzeko as he contemplates losing Marko Arnautovic.

The 32-year-old Bosnian striker previously worked alongside Pellegrini at Manchester City and was recently voted as Roma's best player of 2018 in a fan vote.

And should Arnautovic complete a move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG before the transfer window closes, as now expected, KUMB understands that West Ham are likely to move for Dzeko, who has spent the last three-and-a-half years in Italy.

The Roma striker, who is contracted to the Serie A side for another 18 months has also been watched recently by the likes of Everton, who are also seeking to bolster their strike force during the current transfer window.

Dzeko began his career with local club Zeljeznicar before moving on to Teplice in 2005. Two years later he made his first big money transfer to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, where he spent five years before being snapped up by a freshly cash-rich Manchester City.

The Mancunians paid £27million to land the Bosnian, who was to spend the next four years on City's books. Known for his aerial prowess and physical strength, Dzeko has represented his country on 99 occasions.
