Veteran full-back Pablo Zabaleta says he is yet to decide where he'll be working next season.

The Argentinian defender, who is enjoying a productive season on the pitch celebrates his 34th birthday tomorrow (Wednesday) and is coming to the end of his two-year contract at West Ham, signed in the summer of 2017.

And even though West Ham have indicated that they would like to keep him at the club, Zabaleta is currently weighing up various opportunities.

"I haven’t made any decision yet," Zabaleta told the Newham Recorder's Dave Evans. "I am enjoying my football, but I will be 34 this week!

"For me it is about still enjoying it - and at the right moment I will sit down with the club and decide what to do next.

“I am happy at West Ham," he added. "It is a club with such great potential, but at the moment we are in January and it is too early to decide. I want to make the right decision.

"I am probably no longer in my prime, but I think I am still good enough to do the job. I don’t want to be selfish with the decision.

"If I believe I can’t give 100 per cent then I will walk away, but it is too early to make that decision."

As well as weighing-up a potential new contract from West Ham, KUMB understands that Zabaleta would also consider a spell in Italy's Serie A where he had never previously played.

Additionally Manchester City, one of Zaba's former clubs have offered him the chance to return in a coaching capacity close to where he still owns a home in the North West.
