Manuel Pellegrini confessed to being "disappointed" by one or two major incidents involving the match officials during Monday night's 1-1 draw with Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The Hammers boss was critical of referee Kevin Friend's management of the match after Liverpool were allowed to take the lead with a goal from a clearly offside position - before being given a similar opportunity to score in the dying moments of the game.

"They scored a goal that was a metre-and-a-half offside," Pellegrini said when asked to give his thoughts on the game. " And then in the last minute with [Divock] Origi in front of the linesman again one metre offside.

"Of course you must be disappointed and worried."

However Pellegrini was full of praise for his team on a night when Michail Anotnio's well-worked goal was enough to give West Ham a share of the spoils, at least.

"We played in the way I like this team to play against every team, " he said. "I'm very happy with what was a complete performance and that we created so many chances against the league's best defence.

"We deserved to win - so that's why I'm not happy with a point; it doesn't matter that it was against Liverpool."
