Robert Snodgrass has accused Sky Sports of being economical with the truth after they reported earlier today that the Scottish winger had sworn at doping officials.

Snodgrass was fined in the region of £30,000 and given a one-match ban by the Football Association last month after he was found guilty of misconduct having used what was described as "improper language" towards the official in question.

And earlier today Sky published a tweet in which they stated: "West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass swore at UK Anti-Doping officials before later saying that it was maybe Andy Carroll because he also speaks with a northern accent."

However Snodgrass hit back at the broadcaster by threatening to cancel his subscription, after referring to the TV company's offending tweet as "sloppy".

"Sky you're looking for a bite... I ain’t giving you it!" he tweeted. "The way you wrote this is sloppy and isn’t the truth. The season must be finished and clutching for stories.... disappointing!

"I think I might cancel my sports channels now."

Snodgrass, who enjoyed a productive season at West Ham has been roundly praised of late by the club's fanbase for his sterling efforts in helping fundraise for the Isla Caton campaign.

The 31-year-old went to considerable lengths in order to procure various items of footballing memorabilia from fellow players and other people within the game which were eventually auctioned off on behalf of 'Isla's Fight'.
