It's a 'no' to Socios [video]

The most prominent independent West Ham content providers have joined together in order to condemn West Ham United's "strategic partnership" with blockchain platform Socios.

The club announced in April that they were "proud" to be entering a partnership with Socios, the introduction of whose platform would result in supporters paying to vote on "selected club decisions".

However the main supporter organisations - including KUMB.com - have come together in order to demonstrate their opposition to the partnership, a decision that has been widely supported by the fanbase.

The H List, whose blog is dual-published here on KUMB was one of the content providers to have joined the 'Don't Pay To Have Your Say' campaign.

"I strongly oppose the link between West Ham and Socios and the growing desire within the club to seemingly monetise every aspect of being a fan," he wrote. "This is not an acceptable way to engage with supporters."

Meanwhile West Ham Fan TV's Nicky Hawkins has released a five-minute video - which you may see below - to explain why he opposes the partnership.

The independent content providers and groups to have expressed their opposition and support for the #bemorethanafan campaign so far are as follows:

KUMB.com; Crossed Hammers; Flump9TV; Hammers Chat; Hammers United; JPWHUTV; Long Live The Boleyn (Facebook); The H List; The West Ham Way; Sex, Drugs & Carlton Cole; West Ham Fan Zone; West Ham Gossip; West Ham Online; WHFTV; WHUISA.
