West Ham are set for a battle in order to hang on to to Academy prospect Daniel Chesters, according to reports.

The Athletic claim the 18-year-old, who is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with West Ham has been attracting interest from a series of fellow Premier League clubs.

And having recently moved agents, the midfielder - who turned 18 only last month - is said to be considering his long term future at the club.

Chesters' scholarship it set to conclude at the end of next month, when he will be free to join any club. West Ham have offered the emerging youngster a two-year pro contract which he has been reluctant to sign.

The Hertfordshire-born player, who first joined West Ham at the age of just seven, is one of the Academy's most highly-rated young prospects.

He made his Under 23 debut (against Liverpool) when he was still only 15, two months prior to his 16th birthday, as a late replacement for Joe Powell who had been drafted into the first team squad.

Chesters has previously identified and attributed his exceptional development to former Hammers midfielder Jack Collison, who worked as the club's Under 16s manager between 2017 and 2019.
