Man Utd ballot: the winners and the losers

By now season ticket holders who were successful in this week's ballot for Manchester United tickets have been informed by the club.

Emails were sent out to successful applicants on Tuesday - although not all of the 2,000 successful season ticket holders are pleased to have been granted access to this weekend's fixture at the London Olympic Stadium.

Supporter Cockneyturk was one of those unsuccessful in this week's ballot for seats. However his brother, who was, is considering not taking up the offer.

"My brother and I have been season ticket holders for 30 years and have watched every game together," he told KUMB via twitter. "Yet the ballot for this weekend's game gave him a ticket and not me, even though we have linked client reference numbers.

"West Ham said the reason we didn’t both get tickets together is because we live in different households. So are the 2,000 going on Saturday from the same household?"

The suggestion that members from the same household have been lucky in the ballot has been backed up by reports from KUMB Forum members. "Me and my two boys successful," wrote Beefy's mum - while arlhe added: "My daughter and I have both been successful".

Meanwhile fellow KUMB member Military Hammer had more reason than most to be delighted with the outcome of the ballot. "Confirmed that all five of my family party of five have got a ticket," he wrote.

Unfortunately members of the Boleyn Bar, Londoner, Academy, Forge and Great Briton lounges were out of luck, having been informed that those specific area of the ground are closed due to "stadium zoning rules in place under Premier League guidelines".

And one season ticket holder who contacted the club's ticket office to enquire over the club's policy for distributing tickets told KUMB he was informed he would be unsuccessful in the ballot as the area in which his seat is situated was "too close to the players".

It is understood that neither possession of priority points nor the price of a season ticket were taken into consideration when seat allocation was being considered.
