Pep Guardiola has confirmed he intends to continue with his policy of using a number of reserve and youth team players when Manchester City face West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

The Citizens are hoping to win the Cup for a FIFTH successive season but intend to do so by resting several first team squad members - although perhaps not as many as Hammers boss David Moyes might've hoped.

"The League Cup is a tournament in this country and we have done quite well," he said ahead of the midweek clash at the London Olympic Stadium. "“We won it for the fourth time in a row and still we are there.

“We know which team we are going to face – West Ham away – so it is not an easy one. At the same time, we are going to prepare to try to win the game like we do any game in any competition.

“Some of [the youngsters will be involved] but less than against Wycombe because in that moment we had injured players. We had different circumstances but yes, we will take a look.

"We play on Wednesday so we will see in training - and after we will see what is the best decision. Some of them [the youth players] are going to play, yes.”

The games kicks off at 7:45pm.
