It's been a month of bad news for West Ham United manager David Moyes.
Three weeks ago he lost experienced pro Angelo Ogbonna for the season with a cruciate ligament injury. And yesterday he was informed that the Italian would be joined on the treatment table by fellow first team centre half Kurt Zouma, who sustained a serious hamstring tear last weekend against Chelsea.
However there was at least some slightly better news regarding fellow defender Ben Johnson, who was also forced to retire early from the 3-2 win against Chelsea with a hamstring injury.
It has been confirmed that the 21-year-old's injury is less serious than first feared and while the club have refrained from putting a date on his return, Johnson could be back in action within a few weeks.
"Ben Johnson has started his rehabilitation after suffering a low-grade hamstring strain during the 3-2 win against our London rivals," read a club statement. "Everyone at West Ham United would like to wish both Kurt and Ben all the very best in their recovery.
