Mark Noble has expressed his gratitude towards the press ahead of West Ham United's final home game of the season.

The Hammers face Manchester City in Stratford as Noble, who started the game on the bench, prepares to bid farewell to the claret and blue faithful.

And upon arriving at the London Olympic Stadium today, those covering the game were handed a letter written by the club captain thanking them for their support over the years.

"I would like to thank you for being here to cover today's fixture - my final home match after 18 years as a first team player at West Ham United," wrote Noble.

"Much of my journey you have convered as a reporter or a photographer - and I know that some in the rpess room have been there from the very start - I hope you have always found me to be fair, honest and approachable.

"I have always had the greatest respect for the job that you do in telling the stories and capturing the images of the game that we love and I thank you for your coverage throughout my career.

"Enjoy the game and have a great summer."

Noble begins the game against the champions elect as one of nine substitutes, with West Ham knowing that a win would put them above Manchester United into sixth spot in the Premier League.
