Issa Diop is expected to complete a move to newly-promoted Fulham in the coming hours after a fee of £15million was agreed with West Ham United.

The defender, who won KUMB's 'Best Signing' award in 2019 at the end of his first season in east London is currently undergoing a medical with the Cottagers.

And he is expected to be unveiled as Fulham's latest signing within the next 24 hours, four years after moving to West Ham from Toulouse for a fee of £22million.

David Moyes had been hoping to stall the deal due to his lack of options in central defence which resulted in full back Ben Johnson being employed alongside Kurt Zouma for Sunday's 2-0 defeat against Manchester City.

However Diop made it quite clear that he would not continue to represent West Ham, which resulted in his absence last weekend, therefore essentially forcing through the move.

Moyes is hoping to tie up a deal for Paris St Germain's 25-year-old reserve Thilo Kehrer as replacement for Diop. The German international, capped 20 times so far by his country is surplus to requirements at PSG and has already discussed his options with the Hammers.

Meanwhile rumours emanating from Turkey regarding a potential move for Hungarian international Attila Szalai, who currently represents Superlig side Fenerbahce are understood to be without foundation.
