The most damming indictment of Saturday’s calamity against Tottenham was the crowd reaction inside the London Stadium.
Not one anti-board chant, no clear direction of anger to the so-called custodians of our club? Once again, when the writing was on the wall, exits were made and dissent was only voiced towards one another. Sullivan and Brady are getting away with murder.I was hopeful that Graham Potter would reinvigorate us, but in truth we look a bigger mess than the one he inherited. Conceding the same type of goals, making the same type of errors. We look mentally and physically fragile. Crying out for leaders both on and off the pitch.
From a football perspective, West Ham continue to baffle. The international break came at a bad time for us. The 3-0 victory against Forest at the City Ground saw us play some sublime football in the last 25 minutes.
Saturday, however? Ridiculously lax marking for the opening goal conceded. A ridiculous lunge after losing possession by Tomas Soucek which led to a red card. And the completion of capitulation.
Two home games against two London rivals. Two crushing and humiliating defeats. This is simply unacceptable and intolerable.
We have a crisis on our hands and a brow-beaten fanbase seemingly with little fight left. It’s a tired argument, but in the 10th year at our new home we still feel like we are playing every game away.
The apathy the ground and leadership has created is painful. I’m watching the club I love breathing its last breaths before my very eyes.
Change on and off the pitch is desperately needed. From top to bottom we need a spark of hope, something to reignite passion and deliver what we deserve, rather than what we are enduring.
Join the protest march before the Palace game. Boycott Brentford. Let’s make a stand and try to vocalise together, as one, the desire we feel.
Doing it as you exit the ground, as you are on trains and social media isn’t enough. We need a big, powerful combined force.
They think we’re just random dissenters. They’ve sold our home, heritage, displayed poor business acumen, have no clear direction or obvious footballing pathways.
They've alienated yet another generation of supporters. We’re left with inadequate, tarted-up facilities, a brand name and broken dreams.
No More BS. Make a stand.
