Re: Netflix and Amazon Video
On the 3 Body intro, that anti-education stuff actually happened and it did get murderous. About a year into the Cultural Revolution Mao was reportedly thinking 'wtf have I started?'. Last time I worked in China, a colleague told me her university lecturer father had been publicly shamed and spat on...

Re: England -v- Brazil & then -v- Belgium
Pickford coming out of his area a lot initially, liked it cos it showed attacking intent. Don't mean a result at the other end but may be how the team are thinking

Re: What did you watch last night?
Assorted episodes of The World At War. It will never be bettered as historical documentary. That may be due to the fact that it features so many eye-witness accounts from people who are long gone now. We're now in a 'post-modernist-revisionist' (from WW2) era where political and social aspects of h...

Re: Israel
This is a really easy question to answer. Hamas is a religious organisation. One of the weird bedfellows this conflict makes. They are 'traditionally' sworn enemies of Iran on the Sunni v Shia grounds, but Iran (also a religious organisation) supports them because they are opposed to Israel. By the...

Down to the budget end...getting into frozen pies from Lidl. They had a Boef Bourgignon one that was sodding delicious, but they haven't stocked it since.

Wondering if it was any more reliable back in the day when the attendances were regularly given with the results (Cowdenbeath 1-0 Alloa 327). Turnstile tick-over + season tickets?

Re: Netflix and Amazon Video
Well I just watched the new ROADHOUSE & Conor McGregor is terrible at acting. Or he wasn't acting & he's just terrible. Apart from that the film felt like a 2020s remake of a 1980s movie. Gave up on it but might dive back in. Expected more from Jake Gyllenhall than a punch-em-up and the plo...

The faction of ISIS claiming responsibility are known as 'Islamic State of Khorasan ' - confusing thing may be that 'Khorasan' is an ancient term for the eastern part of the former Persian Empire (which linguistically still exists in Tajikistan and Afghanistan - sort of means ' wh...
