Re: Little things that irritate you
Another 'Omen' scale infestation of flies. Spray & dead but the last Biblical event in October was due to an expired rat in the loft. Expensive builder is supposed to have sorted this in various ways, but "just one left". Trust in builders.

Re: Birds ... the feathery ones!!
Bird walks and shows can be great, some more 'showy' than others. Seen a great one with owls and other predatory birds when working at London Zoo back in '92 (I was a sweeper). Predators were tethered and the sky emptied and the caged cockatoos went mental. The Owl fly-past was brilliant. Another on...

Re: Sam's ear
Can't help thinking 'Sam's Ear' is going to become a representative idiom alongside 'Occam's Razor' and 'Schroedinger's Cat' to, in Sam's case, demonstrate ingratitude.

When the bridge was built the worlds largest container ships carried 1500 twenty foot equivalent containers. The MV Dali had a capacity of 9,900, and weighed around 92,000 tonnes. The largest container ships can now carry over 24,000 teu's, and weigh around 240,000 tonnes. 100,000 tonnes moving at ...

Re: Netflix and Amazon Video
On the 3 Body intro, that anti-education stuff actually happened and it did get murderous. About a year into the Cultural Revolution Mao was reportedly thinking 'wtf have I started?'. Last time I worked in China, a colleague told me her university lecturer father had been publicly shamed and spat on...

Pickford coming out of his area a lot initially, liked it cos it showed attacking intent. Don't mean a result at the other end but may be how the team are thinking

Re: What did you watch last night?
Assorted episodes of The World At War. It will never be bettered as historical documentary. That may be due to the fact that it features so many eye-witness accounts from people who are long gone now. We're now in a 'post-modernist-revisionist' (from WW2) era where political and social aspects of h...
