Re: Alan Curbishley
"But we play good football, that's all that matters really", has for too long been the West Ham supporters' excuse for decades of chronic underachievement and disappointment. Anyone who really believes it is in denial. Curbishley has at least made the team a bit harder to beat, not such a ...

Re: Middlesbrough v West Ham Utd: match thread
The thing that gets me about Curbs (especially at home) are his negative substitutions, he never 'goes for it' it has cost us at home several times this season, however away he is turning out to be a master tactician. I would have settled for 1-1 up there. At home is a different matter and perhaps ...

Re: And he predicts....
He plays the odds. If he predicts a bad result for us it's 50/50 he'll be right. If he's wrong, people will say "Oh well. knowing West Ham, you can't really blame him for expecting them to flunk it more often than not." The only way to **** this c**t up is to have a good consistent run of ...

Jose all the way for me although I don't think the FA have the bottle to appoint him. We have to hope that they are shaken enough to do the unthinkable -- that the potential pain of another humiliating abject failure like this is greater than the potential pain of hiring someone who will be his own...

Talk of people like Stuart Pearce is frankly laughable. It has to be an absolutely top-rate, highly experienced coach in order to stand any chance of doing significantly better. Having said that the current bunch of players are clearly not good enough to do any better than QF in the finals, at the v...

The Coventry defender Turner was shockingly bad and got away with murder under that idiot Styles. The worst f/t professional CH that I have seen since Repka. Poetic justice that yet another of Turner's cock ups led to our winning goal. If Coventry have serious ambitions for promotion they have to re...

We have not played attractive football consistently and continuously since the days of John Lyall. And let's fact it the Greenwood/Lyall era was not rip-roaring successful. I'd rather grind out some results, finish top half, and then progressively develop an attractive and successful style over time.

Aldridge was right up Brown's arse from day one, and owed his whole gravy train existence at Upton Park to Brown. Duxbury was subordinate to Aldridge. This is very predominantly a Brown thing. At that time, if Joorabchian had told him to ski down Mount Everest with a daffodil stuck up his arse then ...

Brown Out
So this is Brown's parting shot to the club -- to bring about a record £5.5m fine, incurred in pursuance of his own personal self interest. EM should now curtail any further payments to Brown and Aldridge, and remove Brown from whatever honorary post he now holds plus make him persona non grata at W...
