Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We should always have stuck to what we were, and just searched for better versions of it. Yesterday was a reminder of that. Yesterday bore no resemblance to our Covid era peak though. That was pure low block counter attack. If anything yesterday was a belated glimpse of the evolution we were promis...

No explanation needed. Suffice to say Florida Cracker was always a frustrated jazz man.

One of my favourite guitar players, an absolute master of melody. Let’s face it how good to you have to be to hold your own against Duane?

His solo on Stormy Monday… :heartshaped;

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Undoubtedly mate and we are where we are but everyone was happy with the way we lost tonight and it’s not as if we win every week by sitting back and low blocking anyway is it? Perfectly valid to question why we haven’t played more like we did tonight before tonight in my opinion. January might expl...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He’s been a manager for about 30 ****ing years in which time he’s never played a high intensity pressing game as a rule. Utterly absurd to all of a sudden claim it’s only because he doesn’t have the squad to do it. I like the bloke but c’mon let’s not argue black is white. There are more than enough...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I’m honestly not bothered if we get decent bunce for him in the summer. I’d be more than happy if it meant Bowen and Kudus stayed. Honestly think tonight showed where he does often get far too relied on and when he’s not at the races, that proves divisive. Like a better version of Anderson under Pe...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think part of the reason we don't play like that every week is that we don't have the squad. If we did that every week we'd need to be 3-0 up by the 70th minute as we'd be completely dead on our feet by then, and that's before injuries inevitably start to bite. He’s been here 4 years. Januarys un...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

To be fair I think Paqueta is capable of playing in a high press. In fact I think he gets frustrated and dicks about because we don’t do it more often.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Ward-Prowse, Alvarez, Kudus...weren't here. Okay Rice for Alvarez is a fair swap....but the conveyor belt of Fornals, Vlasic, Benrahma, Paqueta, Scamacca to make up the numbers? No pace, sometimes questionable commitment, debatable tenacity (unless your island is betting on it) They’ve been here si...

Yet they never pressed like that two years ago. Or ever really. I had actually accepted the notion that our players weren’t physically capable of it. Thats clearly not the case.

They brought on 4 players, 2 of which usually start for them. We’re looking for witchcraft because we’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a proper squad.

You can’t play high intensity football for 90 minutes with 11 players.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I think we should try to play like that in every match. That first 45 minutes is the best we’ve ever pressed. It’s unfathomable that the bloke who sent them out tonight is the same bloke that takes Antonio off on 60 minutes to try and defend a 3-1 lead against Newcastle. It’s very frustrating. If h...

Yup this one’s exclusively and irrefutably on Sullivan.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Coco the ****ing clown and his flag carrying assistants have dictated the last 25 minutes of this game. Yup. Our forwards couldn’t hold the ball up and build a platform because the ref just let theirr players foul them at will. Antonio has a target on his back now - fouls don’t count on him because...
