Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

De Zebri is an interesting one. Now everyone has worked out his matador approach and they just let his side drown itself in passes. Let’s see if he can “evolve”, “has a plan B” etc. Sustainable success is really hard. de Zerbi has 5 wins in his last 21 EPL matches. His genius idea was " baitin...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Many of you whippersnappers don't know when or how to be happy. I'm old. Very old. I'm so old I can remember West Ham United conceding a goal in the EPL. 417 minutes ago, it was. Back when you could have two meals and a bottle of wine and still get change from £100 from Jamie's Italian, Stratford. S...

Re: African nations

Just a reminder of FIFA's rules. "An association calling up a player must notify the player and his club in writing at least 15 days before the day of the match. The club for which the player is registered is not obliged to release the player if this deadline is not complied with." So Ghan...

7 (seven) wins
1 draw
2 defeats (both associated with illness in the squad)

All in 33 days. Amazing stuff.

3rd set of opponents in row left scratching their heads wondering how they didn't get a comfortable draw, as Tommy whirlygigs away celebrating.

I love it.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

David Moyes' stats from soccerbase: West Ham (2nd stint) 196 91 35 70 Everton 518 218 139 161 West Ham points per game 1.57 Everton points per game 1.53 I thought he was a good manager at Everton. He's doing even better with us. So I'm going to carry on cheerfully ignoring everyone using anti-Moyes ...

Re: SC Freiburg vs West Ham United: match thread (Europa League)

One day we're going to miss all this. Younger posters will tell their kids/grandkids: "We used to qualify for Europe every season, always won our group, got to the semis or the final, broke the record for unbeaten sequence of matches in Europe for an English side, never looked outclassed, never...

Agree 100%. That is just stupid. Too busy trying to shoehorn expensive talent into the lineup, instead of selecting a team of specialists.

Moyes' current streak in European competitions:

Win rate 75%

If we don't offer him a contract, someone else will

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I thought Moyes was brave to bring on Alvarez for the last 15 minutes. He's seen Caicedo (megabucks, proven EPL midfielder) come on and simply not deliver. He brings on a midfielder (much cheaper, no EPL minutes, maybe not fully match fit) when down to 10 men at home to Chelsea. That takes guts. If ...

I take it you missed the Oldham game on Valentine's day 1990?

That really was worse than awful.

Today, getting pushed back by some very good players but still holding on for the most part? Not brilliant, but that's about it.

Hello Mate, Welcome back. What's the difference between Welsh, Gaelic & Celtic? Are they all forms of a similar language or very different? You say Welsh was spoken up in Dumbarton but isn't that just Celtic? Cornish, Scottish Gaelic, Irish, Manx and Welsh belong to the Celtic branch of Indo-Eu...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Over the last few years Moyes has in some small way made West Ham a disruptor of the natural order of things. We have pinched a top 6 place, broken Man City’s dominance of a domestic cup, won a European trophy and nicked a European place off the big boys for several seasons running. Also broke Sevi...
