Re: The end of TOTS

In our youth we mainly went to the Lacy Lady in Seven King's and the Goldmine on Canvey. Sunday nights either the Epping Country Club or some pubs in Stratford and Hackney. Some weekend's we would go to the Room at the Top. I think in those days Ilford High Road had the reputation of having one of t...

Happy belated birthday me old mate. Just seen this thread.
And for those asking for a photo, don't do it to yourself. I know it's Halloween today, but it will frighten the life out of you.

Re: Best atmosphere at Upton Park

Has to be the Eintracht Frankfurt game in '76. Den Haag was pretty special aswell as we had a fiesty affair in Holland in the first leg.
Went to both home and away for both of these plus the final.
Best times.

Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread

Thought we just edged it. Yarmo MOTD closely followed by Rice. Fred and Haller also played well. Wilshire looked pony when he came on and I like him as a player. Like everyone hope the injury to Fab's is not too bad, Roberto look's well shaky, you felt immediately that the defence had no confidence ...

Re: ⚽ Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread

I like this new West Ham. Second half in particular we worked our b*llocks off and played like a team, not a bunch of individuals. We would have lost this game in previous seasons. Rice MOTM. Fab's,Diop,Ogbonna,Haller all played well. Second half Nobes was excellent. He and Rice shored up the midfie...

Re: Would you sell Declan Rice for £90m?

Chelsea will be the next club he plays for. No he won't. I was with one of Declan's close relatives in L.A. a short while back, pair of us Face timed with Declan. He loves it at West Ham. If he does one day move on it would be to one of the European super clubs and certainly not Chelsea. I'm sure i...

Re: Newport state of mind - roughest places we've played

Liverpool in the mid 70's, 74/75. West Ham took quite a mob up there. Scottie Road after the game, Liverpool one side, Everton the other and West Ham in the middle, very lively. Elland Road was also a fun walk from the station in those days. Went to the Old Den around that time, for a 'friendly' or ...

Re: Five players who changed West Ham United's fortunes

Bonzo
Alan Devonshire
Frankie Mac
Phil Parkes
Graham Paddon. Maybe a sentimental choice but I was there when he got that screamer against Eintracht Frankfurt first leg of the ECWC which will live with me forever.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

All good Oz, now living in L.A. Understand what you saying about Zabaleta and the contract extension, but went to about 10 games last year as I was in London for six months and the amount of times our full backs were ripped a new one was painful. Yes Fredericks and Arthur played well last few games,...

Early days I know, but still not convinced about the quality of our full back's. Would like us to upgrade on both positions if funds allow.

Re: Two Pairs Of Nobodies (the European finals thread)

In Los Angeles at the moment, local English pub opened at 9.00 am. It will be heaving. Loads of scousers will be attendance. Couple of gobby Spurs were in there last weekend singing 'Spurs Army' didn't realize there was two West Ham and a Millwall fan right next to them. They really are total ****er...
