Re: England -v- Brazil & then -v- Belgium

Crying out for some decent wide full backs in this game. Vlad would be having a field day.

And Mainoo looking better than Bellingham in this game.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

Who's better and is available? Ben Johnson obviously.... My point wasn't really that we had someone else available just that it's mad that we're in the position of playing two CBs at FB when we have an abundance of talent in those positions, whatever the reason. Wouldn't have minded seeing Rico Lew...

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

With the amount of full back talent in England how do we end up playing with Konsa and Gomez?

Bowen did more than Watkins in his short time on the pitch and Rashford isn't good enough. I'd be pretty frustrated if I was Toney.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Because it's not true. Come on now, he'd rather see us get relegated under Potter than win the Europa League under Moyes? Complete and total b*llocks. You can either take him at face value and accept he has a ludicrous and quite ridiculous opinion. Or you can disbelieve him and think he is just tro...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Quite a few of them are busy taking the piss out of the 'Moyes In/moyes Out' debate and the numpties who phone up Talksport when I pop across and read their forums. There is a genuine sense that our club's support has become a bit of a laughing stock in the delusional Spursy sort of way. Oh, and ma...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Sx, I think all but the Sky 7 would bite your hand off for our 3 years in Europe & a Euro trophy. Whether they would accept the football, (when it doesn't work), is an entirely different question. Villa & Brighton wouldn't swap but I imagine most of the others would, their boards would see ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Or ask those supporters from other premier league clubs would they be happy to replace our current and the last three seasons with their last four season. I guess the majority would swap theirs with purs within a heartbeat. But I guess only a few (at all) would like to replace their owners with our...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I asked this a couple of weeks back but didn't get any responses (I don't think). Supporters that want Moyes out are easy targets for the media and other fans because, from the outside, it's incredulous to think anyone would want to get rid of our most successful manager in decades. But if you were ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The problem with social media, one of them at least, (including this and other forums) is that you'll always be able to find another persons opinion to justify your own. Most times it doesn't even matter what is said, the reader will take what they want from a post and rail against it. Sometimes it'...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think this highlights a huge problem in the way of thinking about football managers. Sometimes he can make all the right decisions and still lose. We’ll never know. Sometimes our keeper can have a brilliant game, or a manager will be gifted with the best English midfielder of a generation. I do t...

Re: VAR 2023/24

Imo VAR would be far more acceptable if it was confined to offside decisions which are factual , unlike most other decisions which involve an element of interpretation. And personally speaking I would also amend the offside rule so that there had to be "clear daylight" (An Arsenae Wenger ...

Re: VAR 2023/24

Goal line tech is good. VAR for offside is good (as long as it is only measured by players boots). And I'd say it is good for serious foul play or really obvious errors made by referees. So nothing then. Goal line tech is not VAR. Offside is not measured like that. Almost all serious foul play is r...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

We made that sub because 1. Antonio is knackered and can't handle two games of such intensity 2. Digne was providing a lot of Aston Villa chances - I believe in the middle part of the game Aston Villa had 7 chances to our 0, and we created more chances after the change. Sure, at face value you can ...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Not sure about a time restriction - that would just lead to poor decisions but made faster. I think I'd go for a limited amount of cameras - one per side, no zooming in, no slow mo , no drawing lines looking for mm of offside...just naked eye. That way VAR would only benefit clear and obvious mista...

Re: VAR 2023/24

It is universally disliked and not fit for purpose, it should be scrapped. But it won't be because it's not designed to serve the supporters.
