Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

At this point I'd take anyone in midfield who has the capacity to get up and down the pitch and keep up with the opposition - at the minimum be a pain and get in the way.

We are so easy to play against it scary.

Re: Leicester City v West Ham United: Match Thread

What was the deal with the attacking corner kick set up? Put everyone in the six yard box by the look of it, with two players blocking the keeper. Even if we scored by some miracle it would likely be disallowed for a foul on the keeper - proper 'put it in the pot' stuff... It also left us woefully u...

Re: How much do you care about relegation?

Tough one - If I though that relegation would kick start a revolution in the way the club was run then it would be a 0. Sadly all relegation will do is create an environment where Sullivan can cut even more corners and do things even cheaper until the club is on its knees, at which point he'll flog ...

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

Even with a realistic low ball acquisition amount of 200m quid (which is what most financial experts say the club is worth) Sullivan would have doubled his initial outlay over 10 years whilst milking 7% in interest on his shareholder loans during 7 years of those 10 and 4% for the remainder, so he ...

Re: Felipe Anderson

Thought there was a noticeable difference (Drop off) in our closing down further up the pitch when he was replaced by Lanzini. So much of his work in defence can be unnoticed, but he was very effective yesterday.

The stats are interesting, but they don't tell you the whole story. I'd guess (if we're into stats) that 100% of our passes lacked any type of incisiveness or penetration...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

If Noble has an off day we look awful - he's the only option to control the middle of the park and when it isn't his day we don't have anyone else to step in. Rice is a defensive midfielder, all the others bar Sanchez are attacking options. We all saw that a box to box midfielder was needed...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

that completely contradicts the "clear and obvious error" point to VAR. A digital camera runs at 24 or 25 frames a second, lets give it the benefit of the doubt and divide the second by the lesser number, that gives us 4.16 th of a second per frame, take three of these time frames you arrive at 12....

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

Absolute arse. Who decides which frame to freeze it on? Given that Palace's 2nd goal was given onside by the width of Fredericks' nobbly knees, if it was a frame earlier or later would that have made a difference? Did they draw the line right? Umpires call ffs. Apparently: How does the VAR decide w...

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

We may technically have 2 players per position, but games like tonight’s get prove that the first 11 is pretty nailed on. Second string aren’t good enough or motivated enough, first 11 players that come on under no pressure to perform to keep their place = this shambles, again...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

Is it possible that he's asking for a new striker and has been told that Carroll is fit and can do a job? His response is to prove that Carroll is barely fit and certainly can't do a job, especially in his favoured setup.

It's cutting off his nose to spite his face, but certainly makes a point!

Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread

With any luck Pell played Carroll up front today to prove a point to Sullivan and Gold - that Carroll can in no way be considered as a replacement for Arnautovic. This feels like another crossroads moment, if we are serious about competing in the top half we need striker that works in the system the...

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham Utd: match thread (5/10)

As someone else said, I was still encouraged by the way we tried to play in the second half. It’s a totally different style of play for us and we did create a number of half chances, which they were always going to be against a team sitting so deep. You can already see the different technical abilit...

Re: Jack Wilshere

IF our team cannot adapt to MP's tactics then he needs to adapt his tactics to play to the strengths of the team. we have far too long tried to fit square pegs into round holes with absolutely no success. Agreed, although he made a point of trying to sign players who were ‘technically’ superior to ...
