Re: Sunday Supplement

That graphic will convince them that they are right.

Ajax have all that infrastructure, yet bare bones West Ham still make more money and will continue to do so if they avoid relegation and a lengthy stay in the Fizz.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

They've obviously agreed to sell Rice for £50m-£60m in the summer if these bids are genuine (which they probably ain't).

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

It may be that he becomes the holding mid, and Rice gets freed up to drive forward. Every now and then there's the odd glimpse of how that could work (e.g. Sheffield United) .

The third mid would be the orchestrator, the flair.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

We were doing ok after we spanked stoke 3-0 , then we didn't win in our final 7-8 games ! It pretty much coincided with Robbie Keane getting fit. On £65k a week, I think Uncle Avram felt obliged to pick him when Demba Ba was obviously the top bloke and ably supported by Piquionne and Sir Carlton. I...

Too little too late?
Well, if we lose to Brighton, we'll most likely have 11 games to get about 17 points (assuming playing Liverpool twice and Man City away runs to form)

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

If this czech guy is good at both defending and attacking corners then that's a big plus. We're a bit rubbish at both at the moment. We've also missed that aerial presence in midfield since kouyate left. Now all we need is a pacy striker that can stretch a defence. As I mentioned on one of the othe...

He's very highly thought of... I'd much rather have him than Nzonzi
Bloke has scored 12 goals this season, including against Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

Over his career he's roughly a goal every 4 games as a DM.

Tourists, scarfers, old school supporters, first timers... Say what you will about our support, but Pep has come out today moaning about Citeh’s lot being half empty for their cup game. The league champions who spend billions on players. A half empty stadium. Makes what G&S have got away with even ...

Re: Tourists

nothing pisses me off more than the morons and the stop/go boards . That, along with stop and search and the boarding off of Westfield seem like the handiwork of some health and safety jobsworth. i also don't understand why they can't have a "matchday market" on the walk to and from the stadium to ...

Re: Tourists

Some of the grievances being aired here are among the strongest reasons to welcome a relegation. If the club goes down it's reasonable to expect that the faux fans who really support the scousers, man u etc who just want a PL ticket will fall away. If that happens and attendances fall back to what w...

Our situation is worse than either of those.
My point is that they will look to move out on their terms but financial circumstances will be the driver.

Re: Sunday Supplement

I hate to say it, but I wouldn't place much faith in the power of the sports media. Mike Ashley still owns Newcastle, the Glazers still own Man U. Owners tend to move on when they realise that they are either in charge of a bottomless pit, or when the optimum price has been reached . Our lot failed ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

According to L'Équipe, Nzonzi will be signing for West Ham in the coming days.. Young, hungry player with bags of potential, and full of running and energy. Great signing, glad we didn't opt for a past it, problematic player who wasn't even that good on his day, glad we aren't that desperately unim...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

Footballers are like any other employees or work colleagues. They, just like most of us, know when their workmates are either dawdling or incompetent. We could all see it with Bob. We can see it with Sanchez. It can increasingly be seen with Balbuena. We suspect it of Ajeti and Haller. And so will t...

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

No, he hasn’t. He can take us even further. Into the abyss. We will be Sunderland on steroids by the time he is through with us. You say that like doing a Sunderland is a bad thing. The owner left , a beaten man. The squad has no more Carlos Kickaball's or " 100k a week coz I used to play for Arsen...

Re: How much do you care about relegation?

The club might (just) be able to get a year out of Rice and Diop because they are so young. Antonio is almost a must keep because of how many goals he would get. I think Oggy would go back to Italy, but if he stayed he would go up even further in my estimation. He is a player I haven't always been k...

Re: How much do you care about relegation?

Sanchez, wilshire, balbuena, ajeti, masuaka, yarmolenko. Wilshere I'd agree with - Sanchez is out of contract. I think the rest will go. The basis of the new squad is there: GK; Randolph, Martin, Trott RB: Fredericks, Johnson LB: Cresswell,............. CB: Diop, .............. (might be optimistic...

Almost all the high earners will be gone. Also, players that look crap in the hurly-burly of English league football will get more time and more protection from referees when they play in warmer european climates so will be attractive to La Liga, Serie A etc. The MLS, Russia, Turkey, China or the Ar...
