Same goes for Ramrod and Special in a Young’s pub. Same beer.
Yeah, I often have a Ram and Special or Ordinary when I'm in one of the many Young's pubs round my way. Young's cask ale is so bland so does add a touch of excitement to the proceedings.

We used to do an afternoon of live art galleries. White Horse, Rainbow Sports Bar, Browns, Ye Old Axe (my particular favourite as a true Vicrorian East End boozer ), Images and capping it off with Metropolis. Went for lunch in the restaurant that has replaced the White Horse. Got all misty eyed whe...

Re: Beer/Lager Thread

I've used Beer Hawk a couple of times - were good. They have a few pubs in London now so just collected in store. They're brilliant for German and Belgian stuff at prices you can't really get elsewhere. Crap for English stuff - probably due to the fact they're owned by AB InBev.

Lahore or Tayabbs if I go London, or Kushi in Gidea Park is decent and BYOB. Dish wise I normally try to go for different things, I like a Jalfrezi but it depends on the venue sometimes it's palatable othertimes it's blindingly spicy Yeah, Lahore is great. Tayyab's always too busy, so we usually go...

Re: Pizza oven

Mate, get an Ooni. So good. My Dad had a brick one installed in his garden which is great, but requires so much wood its just too expensive to use. The Ooni burns wood pellets in a tiny hopper and gets up to about 450° in 10 mins. Get an infrared thermometer and a decent dough recipe and you're good...

Nice one. Anyone got any other non alcoholic recommendations ?
Best NA lager I've had is Lucky Saint - the bigger Sainsburys have them for £2.

As Chelmsford area lads we couldn’t be bothered to go to Southend . Plus I’d had a few mates go out there & just found more aggro. Chelmsford was a comfort zone I suppose we knew lots of people and the area It's funny - we'd often hire coaches to take us to other nightclubs in Essex that were to al...

I went to the Kings Arms in Waterloo before the match last Saturday. This pub is completely off the beaten track and is a hidden gem. To those who frequent this area, this is by far better than any of the touristy nonsense near the station or London Eye. Cracking pub. Lovely hanging baskets. Waterl...

Of course, the elephant in the room is - we have all this media and data, but how long until the day that the file format its saved in becomes obsolete and we simply cant access it any more? Yeah, weird one. Pretty much every camera on the market supports JPEG or similar, wonder if/when that'll cha...

I hated TOTS, but was dragged there by mates throughout the 90s. First place I ever drank into double digit pints.
