Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Could be two right backs - Coufal still not signed an extension, still weighing up his options. Whatever happens, we need to add new quality to inspire the players. You have to excite footballers and freshen things up. Paquetá was one, Kudus followed the next. Needs to be one of them each year, or ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

it all depends who the investors coming into the club are . If it's Americans no. but I suspect it ain't them . If it is who I suspect it is . Toney won't be any problem whatsoever. Do you really think there will be a significant change, investor wise, this summer? I just can't see it myself. Every...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

Rashford and Bowen both have the possibility of going as a winger, but also the third choice CF meaning its only one of Toney or Watkins that makes the squad.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Again all this squad depth/requirement will depend on Europe.

With no Europe a smaller squad is of course easier to manage.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

If he is offered the job as head coach at west ham then l think he will or definitely should take it as l honestly don't think that there will be another top job out there for him as even the concensus of this forum seems to vary from game to game as regards his tactics and style of play so if you ...

If the club were serious about the structure then it would have to be 2. route 1 would essentially make tim's position untenable

Just checked him on Transfermkt, he doesn't finish many games. (only play 90mins 6 times in his 20 league games this season)

I wonder if Jordan James of Wales and Birmingham would be an option to bolster the midfield?

Chelsea and Liverpool were both willing to pay £120m for Caicedo.

Length of contracts also play a part here.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Chelsea must have a hell of a large player amortisation each year, even before the recent splurge.

Lukaku alone is charged at £20m per year until the end of the 25/26 season. Transfermkt have Roma playing a loan fee of £5m, so they are losing £15m per year plus any wage subsidy they are paying!

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Chelsea won't have an issue selling players. They never do. If their targets are wanted men, then it makes sense for them to try and tie that up early. While Chelsea will need to sell, it won't be them begging on the streets for teams to take their players, not even close. They'll have about 4/5 fr...

Re: Leicester charged with spending breach

Great. But why is happening to them and not Chelsea? How are Newcastle just carrying on as if 'nothing to be seen here', when everyone knows that their ownership model was described in one way, but in fact set up in another? Why are City charged in relation to so many charges but basically carrying...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Playing Devil's Advocate, if we go with the above, who's playing left back if Emerson gets crocked? Or are you assuming Johnson stays? I actually agree that we need the above, but would add a LB (unless we go for someone that can play both side like Walker-Peters) and another DM to cover/compete wi...

Left footed right winger, 20, Argie... doing very well at Frosinone this season on loan from Juve. Juve looking for 30 million.

I'd expect us to be linked
are we just stocking left footed right wingers?

IF we can add a forfana as well then that would be great, was good for burnley shouldnt cost too much 10-15m

Chelsea paid £10m for him last Jan and loaned him to Burnley in the summer.

Quite possible they will want to "flip him" to help PSR but it won't be for £10m

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Although I think that Brentford will sell Toney, I suspect that they’ll wait until after the euros to see how he gets on. If he has a good tournament, they’ll be able to add another 20% or 30%, however if he doesn’t feature or indeed, doesn’t even go, then yes, I’d say he will be a realistic target...

Re: The next 6 games...

****, forgot about Edson's bans. We'll miss him in those 3 games. Phillips needs to get sharp and step up pronto. Its a real shame as i fear that it will force Moyes to go defensive and we'll see Phillips and JWP both come in to bolster the midfield and Antonio drop to the bench (although he could ...

Re: Nottingham Forest Deducted 4 points

It is stupid because Forest, like any other business , should be able to spend cash, even cash they don't have if others are stupid enough to extend them credit, as they so wish. That is how business works and, occasionally businesses that are run badly crash into the buffers. If banks and other fi...
