Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He'll know, that there's a major rebuild of the squad coming over the next 24 months and that he won't have a major say on the ins and outs of the players, but will get scrutinized by a vocal section of the fanbase after every dip in form; despite being (maybe) less responsible. So maybe there isn'...

Re: Crystal Palace v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

we only get something out of this one if Paqueta shines. I'm assuming we'll see no Bowen, Mav and Aguard. Areola Zouma Oggie Cress Coufal Soucek Alvarez Emerson JWP Kudus Paqueta I can't see Antonio playing twice in 4 days. Zouma and Oggie will also be creaking so I can see us going to three at the ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

JWP doubling down on what he said after last week: "We as a team and as players have got to give them something to get off their seats about. The way we pressed in the first half, we were aggressive and looked like a team on the front foot who wanted to win the game, and I think that style of ...

Re: Where will we finish?

That is uber negative after seeing how well we played tonight. It’s very unlikely we finish lower than 11th, certainly not lucky. As things stand we look likely to finish 9th. I've just done the https://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/ predictor thing again and we still fi...

And i so wish he'd done it more in his time here. Thanks Dave and good luck.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Yeah I guess I more meant the sales effectively not netting off the expenditure. This isn't profit and loss its about enforcing affordable spending and should you have a winfall sale (a young DM for example) you can't really spend it? yes i can see that being a frustration. It does feel that you sh...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

So sell a player with a book value of £10m for £60m. At the same time buy a player for £50m on a 5 year contract. FFP impact is. Year 1: +£40m Year 2 - 5: -£10m a season. How can you operate like that? Surely it's just gonna get harder 4 years on when you have multiple transfer window commitments e...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Is it worth taking a gamble for one season? Go big in the market with a £200M net spend and take the opportunity to revolutionise the squad. Take the 6/10 pt penalty deduction, aim for a mid table finish then kick on with what should be a much healthier squad. It seems to me that a few clubs are go...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Fabianski Coufal Zouma Mavropanos Cresswell Soucek Alvarez Ward-Prowse Ings Kudus Antonio I'd like to go similar with Fabianski Coufal Zouma Mavropanos Cresswell Soucek Alvarez Kudus JWP Antonio Ings Antonio would need to go a hell of a lot of work protecting Cress though. (would also need Kudus an...

We're only actually 8 points behind the tally that got us 7th, wouldn't be that surprising if we end up on more points.
Genuinely surprised if we get more than 4!

Re: Where will we finish?

Updated after today - Fixtures and suggested points based on results that league position might expect. Obviously it won’t pan out exactly like that but it gives an idea of how current points plus difficulty of fixtures combine. Suggests that 8th is best we can expect and that is likely to require ...

Re: Where will we finish?

Wolves have the top 3 to play I'd be surprised if you get more than 7-8 points. Brighton have a tough set so I don't see them getting more than 7 but likely less. I think we need to win 2 games to secure 9th. If betting I would say 10th. Beat Chelsea, maybe just 8th. Quite possible we don’t win ano...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He should be gone in the summer now. He either made the decision to weaken the squad in January in which case he deserves the sack. Or the board undermined him terribly and he should walk.

I think I’ve been saying 12th for some time and don’t think that will change.

Fulham are the only one of the top 13 I think we’ll finish above

No chance. Grealish is still first choice in all the big City games.

Re: Ben Johnson

The issue will be in two years time when he's on wages he's not worth with 3+ years left on his contract that no one can or will match. I do agree with that. Nots sure its that big a problem though. Lets say he's not worthy of a squad space in 2 years time, we sell him for £5m and subsidise his wag...

Re: Ben Johnson

That's 3.25 mil a year. Over a 4 year contract, 13 mil + whatever signing bonus he's after, say 2 mil. 15 mil total. I'm sorry but that's far too much. I like Ben & would like him to stay but I can't see us paying anywhere close to that. Transfermkt value him at around £7m. If we were to replac...

Re: Ben Johnson

I find it hard to believe that he isn't worth a spot in the squad at the moment. We have major surgery required on the squad, allowing a HG player (for both Europe and PL) to leave when we have such a think squad seems stupid to me. Is he worth 65k pw? Probably not. Is he worth it to us, given our c...
