Re: Declan Rice

I do think a lot of it can also be attributed to bad form, but I am not sure now that I believe it'll work as a deep two in there, not at least until we make improvements in other areas. Dunno mate, I was in the 'wish people would stop criticising Soucek' camp until recently as I felt he was unfair...

Re: Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

watching brazil it seems to me that we need to change pretty much the rest of the team which we didn't already change last summer to be able to get out of Paqueta what Brazil do. their full backs play completely different to ours. we need both CB's to be ball playing. the three attacking players all...

Re: Declan Rice

I think it's possible, but I suspect not likely. Would rely on him being the man to recycle the ball when it comes out, and that probably isn't something he'll excel at. There's ways to use Tommy very effectively, but I think you have to use his mobility and tackling rather than think of him passin...

Re: Declan Rice

If the worst came to the worst and he left in January as there was a big bid from a club he wanted to join.....would making Soucek the dedicated defensive mid (given his stats) and having Paqueta and someone like Paqueta (someone more like an 8 - perhaps JWP) give everyone the change in style and te...

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window

Wonder if we could get Gerson ? Probably have to be loan to buy but sounds like he’s on his way from Marseille. He’s failed to turn up to Marseille training as he’s effectively trying to force a move ‘home’ to Flamengo according to Brazilian press mate. Suspect the links to us were planted by Marse...

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window

For all those ‘banking’ £13m from Vlasic in January - Italian press is much less convinced. Torino don’t want to pay the full fee and are likely to wait apparently.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window

Not sure i’m convinced about the higher line solving issues because we’d be more compact - but I think having CB’s closer to our midfield (in turn closer to our attackers) so that they could step out and break the high press that many employ against us more easily. Either way - off the ball movement...

Presume that’s a zoom in of the picture above WCPete? If so, then presume moving the camera more to the right and being directly over the ball would move the ball more over the line? Closer than I thought - but still make that in.

Re: Declan Rice

Love Declan, but I'd rather just tear the bandaid off now and get on with things. Must admit that I’m starting to come round to this view too mate Wonder if we’ve already spent some of his fee…. Most frustrating thing is that we’re going to have months of Chelsea fans and various media telling us t...

Yes it was. Look carefully, thar ball is comfortably 2 cm's over the line, however, it has meant the Round of 16 has resulted in some cracking matches and the theatre of penalty shootouts to follow :) The whole ball isn’t out mate. Especially given the angle the photo was taken from relative to the...

Can we stop saying ‘Germany’s starting right back now’?

In all seriousness, I’m sure he’s gutted to be out but hopefully helps us it to get him back for some team training sessions given Zouma’s knee op.

What are ITV wanging on about? Making a controversy out of nothing. The pictures they are showing clearly show the ball didn’t go completely out. I’m increasingly convinced Souness is going senile. Genuinely. Agree mate….bonkers. Not only does the picture prove it was in (imo) but their expert has ...

What the **** are itv going on about. You can see that the ball didn’t go out - they’ve already seen conclusive view. Their expert then says that it would only be ruled out if there was conclusive proof it was out - which they can’t provide as it wasn’t ruled out. I’m at a loss at all their face pul...

That’s not out. Especially when you consider the angle of the camera to the ball (level with the line would make the ball look less out)
