Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I don’t think Emery would have been anywhere near as successful here We would not have competed as seriously re: signing the players he has at his disposal in the summer for a start. They paid decent money for Diaby (more expensive than our record signing) and Torres in transfer fees and I’m not con...

Just want to say - ahead of tomorrow so that it doesn’t look like I’m results led……
….Even if we beat Leverkusen 5-0
Sullivan is a **** owner and I still wish he’d **** off

I won't mention Chalobah if you don't mention Gibbs-White?
I might still mention Kilman though - if Chalobah is a £20m CB then Kilman is a £200m CB mate.
Ps I know we can’t afford Kilman even at £40m so only playing

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Your point about the underlying annual amortisation is a good one, but when you sell a player you book out all the remaining value against the transfer fee in one season. So when you trade a player with a high book value you get an amortisation spike as well as an income spike. With in-season squad...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I just can’t see the size spend some people are suggesting and wouldn’t be surprised to see a net profit again. Our income was £235m last accounts, with wages as £135m and player amortisation at £65m. Bang on 85% which I believe is the PSR %age for next season. But that includes Europe so income wil...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
You could be right Bubbs but having suffered Dyche I doubt if the fans would relish David Moyes.Peas in the same pod comes to mind. Know a couple of Everton fans, they think Dyche just turns the wheels and doesn’t build - but they believe Moyes does. Without meaning to re-open the debate you can se...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
lol. It seems that imports to the PL from the Brazilian league have been a bit more successful in the last few seasons. We’ll need someone to keep Emerson company at least next season (either Brazilian or Italian)…

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Not so sure about that. Smaller squad needed, easier workload with more preparation and recuperation time coupled with less travel. It arguably enables a smaller more focused overhaul of playing personnel with less need to puff up the numbers in the squad with resources focused on the first XI. Dem...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
On signings: We're likely going to see a complete change in signings. They're likely getting (much) younger but also more on the risky side. He obviously didn't give us names, but spoke about them in the majority being more in the 20 to 23yrs age bracket going forward. Thanks mate That’s all intere...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I was having a look back at some of the posts I made at the end of Bilic's reign and I found this one. Kind of feels like we're going on a similar journey. I agree with Bristolhammer's excellent post earlier by the way, and I am ready for a change - but for any manager to be a success, it's going t...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If Sulli doesn’t allow Tim to buy or sell players without getting involved why does anyone think that Tim will be the one to decide the next manager? I’m sure he’ll pull together an initial list. Once that’s filtered for the ones who won’t want to work at this club or aren’t holding out for bigger c...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I’m not sure about ‘well run’ GSBGSB - if we underspend to the point that we finish lower and fail to get European football then we aren’t well run. Investment of £10m could have led to increased income via league and securing Europe of around £30m for example.

Re: The David Moyes Myths Thread
Myth- We should be 7th/8th and he’s underperforming versus spend.
Truth- We’ve been 12th in the PL for spend during his tenure.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Arguably, Moyes wouldn't be entirely faultless as a key component in allowing the squad that the new manager inherits to be in absolute pieces. I get the Sullivan arguments, and I want him gone as much as the next person, but not every problem can be laid at his door. I don’t think this is what you...

Going back 2 years(from April 22 after being knocked out of the Europa League),apart from the Conference League win,we really haven't been that good.26 wins,an average of 13 games won over a season. That's not brilliant is it?Take the pragmatic boring football and the reason why I and so many want t...

Don’t get this be careful for what you wish for b*llocks.
