Re: George Levine: Amsterhammer

I remember him from here, and also he was involved in setting up little chatboxes with radio streams in the days before Wembley and all the video options. I have only good memories of chatting with him.

RIP George. :crest:

Re: Welcome, Sebastien Haller

Disastrous business - temperament, tactics, workrate, skillset, price. All so wrong it's laughable. He can score a few more bicycle kicks if he likes, but for me, at the moment, he's up there in our top 5 worst ever signings.

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

The way that game ended was just about the most gutting feeling there is. That said, I thought we played really well, fought for everything and worked hard as a team. I'm not unhappy with the performance. We might be going down though. I think we've already thrown away too many points, and we need a...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

If footballers were so keen to broaden their horizons why have they been so reluctant to make such moves before? I take your point. I think most footballers are cosseted in a small insular, ultra~privileged world. But then there have been some examples of players who embraced the experience of movi...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

I wouldn’t be interested in any player who went to China as it just tells me that they are a mercenary with no ambition other than to earn as much dosh as possible. But isn't that the kind of decision we'd all make in our jobs? Or consider, at least? Take a huge pay rise for a less fulfilling job, ...

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

I reckon we'll get at least a draw, and I can see it being a tight 0-0/0-1. As for being in form, they have one win in their last four games, and that was against Fylde.

Re: Pablo Fornals

I'm hoping that Lanzini, after such a terrible injury, is another player who just needs a bit of patience from fans.

He hasn't done a lot this season but I think there have been a few flashes of him getting back up to speed in the last couple of games.

Re: Ryan Fredericks signing confirmed

Just speculation but I reckon he'd be quite near the top of the list if you asked other clubs which of our players they'd take. He's certainly highly-rated by the Brighton fans I know.

Someone posted yesterday that he wanted out. Hopefully Moyes can make him change his mind.
Or he'll score a few and push his value up, then we can bring in someone who wants to be here and celebrates when he scores.

Re: Pablo Fornals

I like him a lot. Good to see him getting into shooting positions and to be fair, he's got quite a good shot on him, just been a bit unlucky. I think he's got goals in his game.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

We've had a lot of very good penalty takers down the years ~ Stewart, Dicks and Noble must be 3 of the best ever I'd have thought.

Re: Manager of the Decade

Big Sam ~ gave us our self-respect back and made us tough and competitive when we'd been everyone's pushovers for years. Did a great job to stop the rot and quickly instill a winning mentality. We could've done a Forest and disappeared for a decade or more without that appointment. I suspect others ...

Payet is the best player I've seen at West Ham in my lifetime, and I grew up on Brooking and Bonds.

It was a pity Yarmolenko didn't tuck his chance away as the build up for that move was really good. To be honest, we should have been 2 or 3 up before Ings hit the bar.

I think I mentioned this in the Pellegrini thread. We hardly ever try to get to the byline and put a cross in, and our corners have been terrible.

2-0 Arsenal.

We are bereft while Haller and Anderson remain in the team.
