Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think we’re at the point where the majority of fans have formed an opinion of him (ie. he’s too pragmatic) and everyone is acting out of confirmation bias. So now anything that Moyes does that confirms the little story people have made up in their own head, proves them right and they feel vindicat...

https://talksport.com/football/1794205/david-moyes-leave-west-ham-premier-league-phil-thompson/ Strange times. I’m agreeing with Phil ****ing Thompson, but he’s absolutely right and that idiot who called in is the epitome of everything I hate about the modern fan. Calling him a dinosaur and a moron?...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think if Call me Dave stays for another 4 years he will go down as the best in our history.. I think he will win another trophy, putting his levels with the great two and will rack up prob 5 top 8 finishes and prob 6 out of 8 years in Europe. One of the most compelling reasons to keep him imo. Ev...

Or, as some are suggesting, we could get a De Zebri like manager in, play really good football and only lose 3-0 instead

funky chicken wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 7:10 pm Knowing Moyes’ history and attitude with regard to numbers of transfers he makes per summer window, I’d be very, very surprised if he brought in 2 centre halves.
Didn’t he sign both Kehrer and Aguerd in the same window less than 2 years ago?

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He has had £100m of talent on the bench in previous seasons and barely touched it. The squad also gets smaller each season he has been here and i don't think that is all down to Sullivan. I'm not convinced Moyes can build and maintain a squad in the sense you are talking about or doesn't want to. T...

Think Sully needs a song. Maybe we can use the lyrics to West Ham are massive?

Sully needs a stepladder, everywhere he goes
Sully needs a stepladder, everywhere he goooooooes
Everywhere he gooooes.

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

I thought we played really well and I really enjoyed the game. I can forgive the last 10/15 - any team that hasn’t won in 8 games is always going to get the jitters at some point when they’re so close to turning the form around. And at that point of the game, it was just about getting over the line....

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The modern day fan attending games now pay out their arses to watch,so they expect a bit more for their money.Back in the day,you went a long for a bit of a sing song,a few beers and hopefully a win and it would only cost you peanuts. Ah there’s a billion reasons why modern day fans expect more. It...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Fans do not have to up their game at all. As always we pack out our stadium and away ends . All they expect in return is effort and decent football, when those on the pitch and sidelines start delivering that theyll see that reprocated from the fans. The only ones that need to up their games are th...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Is there any possibility that the reason we were one of the favourites to win the ECL had something to do with getting to the semi-final in the higher ranked and more difficult competition the season before? Naaaahhhhh, of course not. That would mean giving credit to Moyes. How silly of me. As you w...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I wonder how far into next season we would get before people start calling the Europa League a second rate European trophy not worth winning were Moyes to win it this season.

You lot make me laugh. Been waiting to win a trophy for 40 years, oh but not that one :crylol:

Former Europa League winners Frankfurt go out in the Conference league before the last 16. Apparently it’s a really easy trophy to win though so they must be proper ****. Looking forward to Villa lifting the trophy in May and then none of their fans, players or manager celebrating because anyone can...

...and yet he continues to be obsessed with playing his favourite.... Soucek, a player with a lot of heart but the technical proficiency of a lamp post. A player who passes the ball out of play from 5 yards, is one paced, slow in many respects and who other teams have sussed cannot handle being pre...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

No-one at the club, whether that’s Moyes, Tim, Nolan or any of the other coaches are going to come out and say that they think the squad is weaker because the implication would be that they don’t think we can achieve our objectives with the squad as it currently is. Coming out and making a statement...

Re: January transfer window

Since 2019 we have spent around 560m and sold 290m worth of players....not sure that Moyes hasn't been backed to be fair. What’s that, £50m a year? Meanwhile our fans are expecting us to spend that and play tiki-taka whilst competing with the top 6 who drop that, or 2 times that, amount on a single...

Still sat here refreshing the page like an idiot out of blind hope that we’ve somehow lined up a signing or two and we’re just waiting ‘til the last minute to announce them.

I’m 35. You’d think I’d have learned by now…
