Re: Little things in life that make you smile

What great news, Pete. Mrs Collector told me this after she read Dan’s fb post. I’ll share a bottle of Irn Bru classic with him the next time we catch up. :smiler:

Re: Today i bumped into...

Sitting in a quiet pub in Edinburgh this week with a pint while doing the newspaper sudoku I looked up and thought that the larger chap sitting at the other end of the snug looked familiar but kept to myself. He got up to leave at the same time as I needed a pint refresh and he said goodbye to someo...

Di Greekio was just an absolute nutter, but funny with it. I agreed with much of what Stockwell Pete used to say, but as others have said he went a bit too far with it at times. Hope they're both well. :newthumb: Yes, DiGreekio was an absolute nutter. Trained to be a teacher after his national serv...

Re: Beer/Lager/Cider/Spirits/Wine.. Thread

I am due to attend a launch party this Friday for the new Harris Whisky but have picked up another bout of Covid after my trip sowf for the Backla Topol game. So, can’t actually taste much at the moment. https://harrisdistillery.com/collections/the-hearach-single-malt Mrs Collector will have to pick...

I think that following Liverpool’s lead here all past decisions are up for review and replays. Sammy Lee was offside.

Re: Favourite grounds before the premiership

Another vote for Portman Road, mainly because I don’t recall losing when we went? Also, beers at the Tolly Cobbold brewery before the game. Whisper this quietly but I thought that Cold Blow Lane was alright, proper old fashioned football ground. Then, it would be a tie between St James’s Park (not t...

The CAMRA beer of the year award went to Elland’s 1872 Porter The Champion Beer of Britain 2023 winner was Elland’s 1872 Porter (6.5% ABV). Described as a ruby black porter, with chocolate and caramelised fruit flavours with a hint of black toffee on the nose. The judges enjoyed its smooth mouthfeel...

I used to like the Guinness brewed here! Was quite young and not as sad as I am now, but would have loved to have done a proper side-by-side comparison. Did anyone do that back in the day? My Dad claims to have - one pint from The Toucan, one from Nellie Dean. I used to frequent a pub run by an Iri...

Re: 3 Days Out Of Warranty Washing Machine Broken

This isn’t going to be much help to you now but we’ve swapped out many parts on washing machines, dish washers and tumble dryers over the years and it does sound like your original issue was probably the pcb. Depending on the brand you would be looking at about £100 to get a new one. You can usually...

Re: Is Ilford in East London or Essex?

There is a certain club’s supporters (said club having deserted East London to move to Kent) who consider WHUFC to be from Essex because London stopped at the river Lee.

I moved from Silvertown and lived in Ilford for about 20 years. It was in Essex.

One side of Kilburn High Road is Brent the other side is Camden. Brent side pubs closed at half ten during the week and Camden side pubs closed at eleven. Many dangerous crossings were taken 🍻🤣 Similar to Canning Town. The Bridge House shut at 10:30 but you could leg it across the river Lea to the ...
