Re: Declan Rice

I still want Declan Rice to succeed, but want Arsenal to fail.

However that happens, I'm OK with it.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

People often say how meticulous the Villa manager is. Moyes identified their weakness at set pieces and exploited it. On another day with a different set of clowns sitting in Stockley Park, we would have come away as comfortable winners. He kept his best players on as long as they could, players who...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

It's all if's and buts, the substitution didn't work. Some of us questioned it at the time, even if I didn't post it, I couldn't get my head around it. I'd have brought on Ings and shuffled the pack, but then we might have conceded 3, who knows. It's opinions. In the end we got robbed or didn't get...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Yes, but that was a very odd sub. He was at least keeping their defence honest. I know he was probably blowing out of his arse, but following that sub we offered very little for quite a while and then conceded. So what was the better sub to make if Antonio was knackered? It's worth mentioning that ...

Geoff Hurts wrote: Sun Mar 17, 2024 4:19 pm I think it was because we left further subs until after they scored, when it was obvious we was being pegged back prior to their goal. It's all a matter of opinions and he may have made substitutions earlier and we might then have lost. We can never know.
But Antonio came off at 1-0?

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Pretty much my feeling aswell. Usually I'd be screaming, but it's draining. You can see how it's ruining football and it's happening every week. Last minute winner and I didn't even celebrate as we'd had 2 chalked off already. So no surprise when it happened a 3rd. We can only try so much and we di...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

I don't get the people saying the substitution killed the game. Was he supposed to leave Antonio on? Or put Ings into a role he's absolute ***** at (according to most of the people who slate Moyes!). Johnson was playing box to box, what's so negative about that. We literally had the ball in the oppo...

4 times in the net.

Absolute joke.

I usually like how reserved Moyes is when he talks about the VAR, but I want him to come out blasting today.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Not sure there is a "narrative", just incompetence. At least 1 of the chalked off goals should have stood. We've played well, but yet again the lack of squad depth has come back to haunt us. It's disappointing how quickly some folks are to crucify Moyes despite us being the better team, wh...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Patience is all any decent manager needs, as well as getting the players he wants. Moyes is no different.

I personally want to look back in a couple of decades and be proud that we stuck by our manager who set the foundations for us to actually push on to the "next level".

Ings looking sharp, KP getting minutes.

Perfect match really, Alvarez yellow and Paq calf aside.
