Re: Little things that irritate you

More than an irritation for sure, but finding out at my wife's 20 week pregnancy scan yesterday that the baby was no longer viable, and now having to decide what to do about it.

none of the options are particularly appealing

Re: Subbuteo

I never really played Subbuteo much, although the old Rossi''s shop in Chingford Mount was the place to buy Subbuteo stuff.

Test Match cricket was the cricket table top game. There was a ramp thing that acted as the bowler

The majority of crowds at northern European league games are white, working class males, most of whom have witnessed mass immigration to their countries and don't like it,good luck with trying to force Kick It Out down their throats.

That hasn't got anything to do with Bulgaria though does it :?

Re: Bulgaria vs England

Huh, I thought he left because they faced a winding up order and he wasn't getting paid. They terminated his contract by mutual consent. Any sources on the stuff here, Crouchend? I know there's some Daily Mail headline that purports to have the 'real reason' in the article, but I don't touch that r...

Re: Bulgaria vs England

Sol Campbell did a very good job in terms of results but, as i understand it, got sacked because he completely fell out with the players. Basically they thought he was a loon with some of the stuff he was asking them to do

Re: Bulgaria vs England

Of course we are further along than Bulgaria. We have had centuries of racial assimilation. Decades of equality campaigning and thousands of ethnic minority success stories and role models to change societal perceptions. We should be miles ahead of where Bulgaria and other similar countries are with...

Re: Bulgaria vs England

We still have a large far right problem in this country, so we shouldn't get all high an mighty. Thankfully they have moved on from following football en masse Unfortunately in a lot of other countries the relationship between the Far Right and going to football matches is still intrinsically linked...

Re: Bulgaria vs England

We will see the full hypocrisy of our media now
Full blown condemnation of 'backward Bulgaria' [rightly so] for a day or two and then back to their subtle drip-feed of racist tinged coverage towards Lewis Hamilton, Raheem Sterling etc etc

Re: Wilfried Zaha

Declan Rice says it wasn't a spit at him so that is good enough evidence for me Never understood the hatred people feel towards Zaha tbf. His back story and how he came as a refugee and made a career for himself and how he gives loads of his wages back to Ivory Coast is a decent story in the modern ...

Re: Czech Republic vs England

Fair play to Kieran Trippier. He took a risk and went abroad to play for the one of the best club sides in Europe He has cemented himself in a defensive unit better than anything our club football has to offer. He deserves to get another chance for England based on that. He is hardly off form. Peopl...

Re: Czech Republic vs England

We have better players and a better blend. Jordan Pickford... Michael Keane... Harry Maguire... seriously... So a team who will probably come 8th or so in premier league has better players than an England side where probably 75% of the squad play for champions league/ Europa league teams? We might ...

Re: Czech Republic vs England

Not many real top top drawer international sides about at the moment.
Belgium, Spain and France....then what?

England are a decent young side that is developing all the time.

Hopefully, with a bit of luck, they can have a good run in the finals in June

Re: Czech Republic vs England

West Ham would beat England. England have been crap for years; a lucky run to the WC SF shouldn't disguise the fact that every decent team beat them without taking their slippers off. England don't have a single top drawer player. Not one. Surely if England don't have any then west ham don't have a...

Re: Czech Republic vs England

International football is a different kettle of fish. Different tempo, style, tactics, mindset, pyschology. Rice has k onky ever played in the hurly burly of the Premier League where everything is 100 miles an hour. Not just as straightforward as taking the best performing players and expecting them...

Re: Czech Republic vs England

Not seen any of the game but one thing we have to bear in mind at this stage of the group is that there is a lot more riding on this game for the Czechs. They are battling to qualify. We are cruising through so that may may play a bit of a part in the mindset

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

Every manager has their favourites. Players whose qualities they know and have confidence in. It might not always be purely ability but how they react in certain situations, their character, leadership whatever. A manager knows they can trust them when required. That is even more important for inter...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

: You can argue back and forth until the cows come home, whether it was or wasn't a foul. The simple fact for me is that penalty would never have been awarded, in identical circumstances, for any other away side at Anfield. Especially not in the ninety fifth minute! Probably not but it wouldn't have...
