Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Ref was awful. For both the Alvarez and Kudus bookings he waited and got advice via his earpiece before deciding to give the yellows, he bottled it by giving cards to Villa players and Eddie and Mo. Quite why he couldn't get advice via the earpiece for the Zaniolo yellow card decision baffles me. As...

Ref blew for what looked like it might be handball before the ball hit the net.

Happened right in front of us.

Re: January transfer window

Will be sad to see Fornals depart, he's been a key element of our revival and his contributions have been obvious to all. However, as we've progressed and his game minutes have got fewer and fewer what's obvious is he's a confidence player that needs regular game time to keep up his levels, and he's...

Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread

Bumped into a friend who happens to be a League 1 referee today. He asked if I'd lost my voice after the "shocking" performance of the officials last night. He found it hard to believe how much was missed.

Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread

And some PL primadonnas how to react when the lower-league opposition plays on the edge... Normally agree with you DH, but when a potential leg breaker results in no sanction, no foul, no yellow or no red, as a player I'm going to be nervous of what happens next. It's why the likes of VAR was broug...

Guaranteed that we get a quick yellow early doors in the second half after all their fouls go ignored in the first.

Couldn't agree more. Our performance drop off when Alvarez doesn't play is a real concern.

Lot's of talk about how tired we were etc, in truth his defensive shield was the biggest loss.

Re: ⚽ Luton Town v West Ham Utd: match thread

Tight ground with no space meant a real challenge in keeping possession as the midfield was squeezed. Under the circumstances a very good result, it had Forest away waiting to happen. Give it some sutumn rain and that pitch is going to look and play like ****. I genuinely have no idea what constitut...

Still think there's more road to travel in the Maguire situation. Public comment still counting for nothing more than the bluff in a game of poker. Wouldn't be surprised to see him rock up late in the day.

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

Sean Whetstone: West Ham received £129m without add ons from player sales and have spent £114m of that without add-ons included. That leaves around £15m of the summer transfer budget unless further players are sold so the Hammers are likely to be looking for two loans and a free agent. https://x.co...

Not sure about departures, but I could see Kudus, Maguire, Lingard and a loan for Broja by the end of the window.

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

I can't believe there's people saying Antonio played well on Sunday. He scored a very good goal and then had about 10 mins where he looked better. That's it. He spent most of the game strolling around the pitch doing nothing. He couldn't look any less interested if he tried. First half he had a sho...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

Apparently the terms between Maguire and West Ham had not been agreed. From the BBC article https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66520737 A source close to the player said that while Maguire "respects West Ham and David Moyes" there was "never an agreement in place" over his per...
