Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

If he gets his wish of gaining full control of our "football operations" it's very likely that two more scouts/data guys will join Steidten from next season. They're already on gardening leave at their clubs in Germany, but will only move over, if Steidten is with us after this season. We...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

They couldn't afford Dec. Why would they afford Mo? Tonight Mo proved that in addition to blistering pace and ball carrying abilities, he has an ability to hold up and retain the ball against three or four defenders at once I know this ability has always been there but tonight made it clear for the...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

He was the reason we had to chase the game today. Freiberg away we gave far too much respect. Same applies here. This is why people want Moyes out. I actually don’t disagree with this (although who knows whether we do any better if we have a go at them last week, albeit it probably would have been ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I will provide one response here and nothing beyond that as I’ve already explained that there are two schools of thought to the Alvarez sub. Watching the way the team came out fighting today almost made me teary-eyed, and had me coming away with a (west ham related) sense of pride that I’ve felt onl...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I’m not Moyes in or out but imho you cannot blame him for anything today. Great performance from players and manager The Alvarez sub over JWP is a toss up, but I don’t think you can fault a manager for bringing in fresh legs and an attacking player while leaving one of our set piece experts on the p...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Imagine having Fornals or Benni on the bench. It’s Been fun but now it’s the end the fun. Showed them far Too much respect first leg. They are nothing special. It’s not just that we lacked Fornals and benni this game, it’s that we haven’t had them or even folks like Kehrer since January, which mean...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

BS goal but that’s always a possibility when you have no one on the bench to bring on to keep the game plan going

So proud of the entire team today, but still mad at the January window which pretty much guaranteed this result

Re: January transfer window

No interest from the player in leaving Stuttgart. Kinda makes me like him more. He was absolutely on fire at the time with his stock as high as possible but Stuttgart were flying as well and he wanted to see the season out with them (with the potential for all kinds of things to go wrong in that ti...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Fun bit of research for you regarding the January transfer windows of Allardyce, Bilic and Moyes (potential) final seasons I know this isn’t the point of your post, but it’s also worth highlighting the transfer windows during their managerial terms where no funds were made available when we had the...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

That’s too much (net spend unless you are finding new owners). I would keep Zouma (he would be hard to shift on those wages), Downes he is good enough for the bench and JWP I would keep. I would let Coufal go if he is unhappy, Mubama can go, and I would take £15m for Soucek I know that he’s not the...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

I’m not Moyes in or out, but Sullivan left him out to dry in January to the point that it almost looks like Sulli WANTED our season to peter out so he had an excuse to not renew his contact in the summer

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

It’s games like this where if you are a west ham manager you can put one of the kids on, not because they might change the game, but because it would get the crowd into it and they can’t do any worse

To be fair it looks like after he won the ball it bumped his leg up which makes it look worse. I think yellow is right but definitely could be a red today

Antonio needs to be playing 30-60 min tops if he’s going to play twice in one week

Again we needed another option like Antonio if we were planning to play the way we do. And of course we didn’t get it

We are definitely better with the ball without Soucek
We are definitely worse without the ball without Soucek
And in both cases to a pretty noticeable extent

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

There was a superb piece of journalism in today's 'Mail' on Mason Greenwood and how he has completely refound himself at Getafe. . . To the point, PL clubs just might begin to start watching him I can’t see anyone here signing him for a few more years still, but I can see the chairman’s son tweetin...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think there really is a reasonable middle ground view on our last game. Playing compact and trying to hit Bayer on the break was probably a smart game plan away from home. However, at the same time, under Moyes and other managers we have set up like that to frustrate even better sides than Bayer, ...
